1972 Triumph Dolomite Restoration Project

Our very own Scott Willetts, Warehouse Coordinator, shares some photos of his 1972 Triumph Dolomite Restoration project.

Scott purchased the car in 2018 from a gentleman in Derby for very little money. The gentleman brought the car wanting to restore it but couldn’t get the engine started, then decided to sell due to more work needed than he first thought.

Within a few days of bringing it back Scott got the engine running, stripped the car down, removed the interior, removed the doors and then removed the head off the engine.

Scott welded new panels into the bottom of all 4 doors, cleaned and under sealed the underneath, changed the wheel bearing and studs, rebuilt the brakes, fitted new carpets and sanded it all down ready for painting,(just to name a few things done).

There are still a few little jobs to do before Scott gets around to painting it and he is hoping to get it back on the road in time for the summer,

Scott was lucky enough that we sell most parts needed here and used other internet sites, the The Triumph Dolomite Club and auto jumbles for extra parts. Check out these before and after photos.

Thanks for sharing your restoration project story Scott!
