A message from Kate Manners - Managing Director

It’s hard to believe that we are now in to August – over 4 months after the Government announced the nationwide “Lockdown.” The tragedy of the COVID-19 pandemic has had a profound effect on the lives of millions of people around the world and the team at David Manners Group would like to pass on our deepest sympathy for any of your families, friends or colleagues who have been affected.

Like many businesses in these unprecedented times, DMG has had to rise to the challenges of keeping our staff and customers safe, whilst keeping our business open. We are currently adapting to the “New Normal” for both staff operating from the offices and for all our home workers.

We will continue to strictly abide to the Government Rules during this pandemic. We are confident the plans and safeguard measures’ we have put in place over the last few months will see our business through these uncertain times and we can continue to offer an excellent service to all our existing and new customers.


We are committed to keeping our staff and customers safe and having completed a risk assessment we have concluded we are not able to open the counter at this time and won’t be offering a click and collect service as an alternative.

We are committed to serving our local, national and overseas customers and are currently offering Free Shipping on web orders for all UK online orders and Reduced Shipping for online orders for overseas customers.


With many of our staff working at home and others who have been using the Furlough Scheme we have calculated how many staff we can safely have in the building. DMG is very fortunate to have loyal, long standing staff. Our experienced and committed teams have been working additional hours to ensure we continue to handle our customers’ orders, offer sales support and meet all our delivery deadlines.

We have been delighted to receive positive feedback from many of our existing customers and this has really helped to motivate and boost our morale.


We have been monitoring sales daily since Lockdown trying to identify trends in the UK and Overseas. It comes as no surprise that our “Classic Car Enthusiasts” took the Lockdown opportunity to restore their beautiful cars in the sunny weather, we had in April/May. In fact, we can record the highest ever number of parcels sent out on the 11.05.2020 to our retail customers.


By moving some staff to home working we have used the time wisely to reallocate roles and bring forward projects that had been on hold. One such area being covered is the improvement of our websites.

Since lockdown we have been able to allocate a dedicated member of staff full time from home, currently working on our websites to both enhance the customers' experience and to make the websites easier to navigate.

The current offer of Free Shipping on web orders for all UK orders (and reduced shipping for overseas customers) will continue to run for the foreseeable future.

Due to the current Covid-19 situation many of the events that we would normally attend to meet and greet our customers have been cancelled. We have taken the decision to not attend any events in 2020 and will keep you informed about what we decide to do in 2021. We have been working hard to communicate with our customers during the last 4 months with uplifting stories about your classic cars, competitions on Face Book/Instagram and cheeky Friday Fun with “Guess the Car Part.”
