We
can send to virtually any address in the world. Read about your despatch options
below.
Delivery will normally be at your own risk.
| Conditions
imposed by card issuers require that if you pay by credit card, we may only
deliver to the address at which your card is registered. |
Unless
otherwise requested by telephone, fax or e-mail, we will provide the optimum delivery
service for your parcel consistent with minimum cost and adequate speed |
|
There are often more expensive
alternatives which can include faster delivery, registered delivery and insurance
cover. Sometimes cheaper but slower methods also exist |
| contact
us directly if you require a different service | |
The
cost of delivery depends largely on several factors - where in the world is it
to be sent, how quickly do you want it delivered, how valuable is it, and most
important of all, how heavy or bulky is your order? The first three factors may
be known, but in many cases the weight and bulk cannot be known until your order
is packed. We have around 15,000 stock lines, for most of which we know the weight.
Yet we can also supply around 75,000 other lines from our suppliers, and we will
not usually know the weight of these before they are delivered to us. Another
consideration is that sometimes the packaging itself can have significant weight
- for example heavy items have to be in strong containers, and delicate items
such as windscreens or panels have to be well-protected. Carriers
often calculate their charges to us based on a complex formula involving both
weight and dimensions of the package. So even when we know the weight, that
might still not fully determine the shipping charge. Also certain countries
in Europe impose a charge for Customs clearance and we can do nothing about that. There
are essentially three methods of transport. For total weights below about 1.5kg
the cheapest transport to most parts of the world will often be Royal Mail parcel
post, but there are several restrictions, including the value of the parcel
as well as it's dimensions. In Europe and the rest of the world we will mostly
use Air transport up to the point where the third method - surface transport -
becomes cheaper because of increasing weight. Unfortunately
therefore, at the time you place your order we will often not be able to give
you any more than our best estimation of the cost of shipping. We will quote on
our website the lowest possible carrier cost. We will not proceed with
your order without confirming with you the correct cost. The following indications
are only a guide to enable you to roughly estimate what you may have to
pay for shipping. We
also draw your attention to the fact that an increasing number of countries levy
an additional import tax or customs duty which is nothing to do with us, but which
you do have to pay. In case of doubt, please contact your own countries' Customs
and Excise department to establish what this charge (if any) may be. You are strongly
advised to ask us for a quotation on shipping costs to Australia, Hong Kong, New
Zealand or Japan and not to use automatic credit card payment. We may be able
to suggest alternative delivery. In the case of Norway and Switzerland, we need
to quote for delivery, so you cannot use automatic payment.

Which countries are included in the UK?
The following countries are included in our definition of the UK for delivery
purposes: England, Northern Ireland, much of Scotland, Wales and all BFPO addresses.
For deliveries to the Republic of Ireland, Scottish Highlands and Islands, please
see our Western Europe delivery rates. How
will it be delivered? All items delivered to a UK address will be dispatched
using either Royal Mail First Class or Nightspeed
48 hours. There is a maximum weight of 2 Kilos for Royal Mail, and other restictions
on size and value. How long will
it take to arrive? To find out when you will receive an item, you need
to consider the availability of the item you ordered and add it to the stated
dispatch time for your chosen destination. For deliveries to a UK address, dispatch
time is 1 or 2 working days. So if you are ordering an item displaying 24-hour
availability, you can expect to receive the item at your door two or three days
after you place your order. When
all your goods are in stock, we usually achieve 'following day' delivery in the
UK, although it can also depend on courier schedules and workloads. This can sometimes
take customers by surprise, and as parcels require a signature for the delivery
driver, there can be an unnecessary delay.
Be prepared to have someone available
to sign for your goods. We have no control over the time of delivery, nor whether
parcel delivery drivers have sufficient flexibility to 'leave your parcel next
door' or not. The general rule is if no-one is available to sign for the goods,
a card is left and you then have to make arrangements with the carrier for personal
collection from a local depot, or a second delivery attempt may be made.
If
your need is particularly urgent, and the parts you order are in stock, we can
- at extra cost - deliver by the following morning. You will need to order directly
by telephone for this service to be effective NB:
Delivery times to BFPO addresses are dependent on British Forces Post Office schedules.
